Anbernic has introduced the RG557, a new handheld gaming console that boasts impressive specifications typically found in mid-range smartphones. With a focus on enhancing the gaming experience, the RG557 is designed to support both recent Android games and Wii U emulation, as indicated by a recent teaser video.

The RG557 features a 5.48-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor and includes 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM alongside 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device operates on Android 14, utilizing Anbernic’s RG front end user interface tailored for gaming.
